Bit Error Rate Tester (BERT) for OC-768, 100GbE, 400G
SHF bit pattern generators (BPG) and error analyzers (EA) form a future-proof bit error rate tester (BERT) which supports 100 Gigabit Ethernet developments based on multiple 28/32 Gbps and 56/64 Gbps channels for 40/43 Gbps (OC-768), 28 Gbps CEI, Infiniband, Fiber channels as well as parallel channel data-com. The SHF 12104 A and SHF 11104 A are worldwide the first BPG and EA delivering a speed of more than 60 Gbps per channel!

Our BPGs operate hand in hand with our high speed digital modules. Connecting the SHF 12104 A BPG to a SHF 603 A Multiplexer raises the serial data rate to ≥ 120 Gbps. A PAM-4 or PAM-8 source is formed by attaching one of our DAC modules. The programming capabilities together with the channel synchronization render the BPG + DAC combination to be a full “remote head” AWG (Arbitrary Waveform Generator) at a speed of up to 60 GSymbols/s.

Our optical transmitters allow the generation of optical signals of up to 256 Gbps. In addition to the well-known ASK format (also known as OOK), we also produce instruments for the generation of DPSK, DQPSK, DP-QPSK and QAM signals.
Two form factors
For applications where speed, signal quality and flexibility are the key factors, SHF’s plug-in modules to be hosted by a mainframe are the right choice. The mainframe is controlled over an Ethernet connection by an external computer.
SHF’s compact bench-top series provide a high performance signal generation solution to the cost-sensitive industry. The minimal power consumption and the light weight make it perfectly suited e.g. for on-wafer tests.
