All assemblies feature a common clock distribution and are powered by one single supply. Further, not only the discrete SHF components but also the complete assembly as a whole will be specified, characterized and inspected.

This assembly provides not only the multiplexer to upgrade a 30 Gbps BPG to 60 Gbps but also the directly attached amplifier to boost the signal to the signal level required to drive the modulator.

SHF 83040 A Mux to DAC Assembly
This assembly transforms an existing 30 Gbps binary pattern generator into a 60 GBaud PAM-4 source. The 30 Gbps data streams are multiplexed to 60 Gbps by the SHF 601 A. This signal is converted to PAM-4 by the directly cascaded SHF 613 A DAC.

SHF 88041 B Twin DAC Assembly
This assembly provides two phase aligned multi-level data streams as a drive signal to generate optical QAM with an IQ modulator. The mechanical dimensions are exactly matched to our BPG and optical transmitters. Both DACs are timed by one common clock which can also be directly derived from our BPG.

SHF 88046 A Twin DAC Assembly
This assembly provides two phase aligned multi-level data streams as a drive signal to generate optical QAM with an IQ modulator. Both DACs are timed by one common clock. It is the perfect fit to convert the binary data streams from our SHF 12104 A BPG and into multi-level signals to operate a SHF 46213 D or SHF 46215 B transmitter in (DP-) QAM mode.

This assembly is a very cost effective way to generate a single channel high quality 60 Gbps data stream. The two independent 30 Gbps data streams of the compact bit pattern generator SHF 12124 A are multiplexed together by the SHF 601 A.

This assembly is a very cost effective way to generate a single channel high quality 30 GBaud PAM-4 data stream. The two independent 30 Gbps data streams of the compact bit pattern generator SHF 12124 A are combined to a PAM-4 signal by the SHF 611 D.
